I would have to say, after reading this book, I am convinced something crashed.
The sequence of events, the threatening of the people, the eye witnesses, etc. all make a credible case that a UFO crashed at Roswell, New Mexico.
Here's a interesting video. It sure seems like there are others, (UFO's..with occupants) visiting our earth!
